BINTULU – The Land and Survey Department , Bintulu yesterday presented 97 title deed of the Native Customary Right (NCR) lands that have been survey under the NCR New Initiative to the respective recipients in Tatau District.

John Sikie anak Tayai, the Assistant Minister of Local Rural Council called on the recipients to fully utilize the lands for their own benefits.

He also advised them to venture into planting rubber on large scale by combining their lands. He said this because the rubber could fetch a lucrative income for the villagers.

John Sukie, who is also the State Assemblyman for Kakus reminded the land owners to start working on their lands and be productive.

He said this while giving out the title deeds to the recipients during the presentation ceremony held at Muli-Purpose Hall in Tatau yesterday.

Earlier he also reminded the people not to be misled by the Opposition who claimed that the Government were taken away their lands.

He added the NCR New Initiative , which aims to carrying out the perimeter survey of the NCR lands was to allow the Land and Survey Department to measure the exact position of the NCR land and the State land.

Earlier, Superintendent of BIntulu Land and Survey Department Ramzi Abdullah said a total of 166 recipients including yesterday batch of 97 in Sungai Jelai Settlement , Tatau had received the land titles to their lands.
